Mimi O'Connor is a psychotherapist, counselor and professional seminar leader. O'Connor specializes in attitudinal healing: a thought system of spiritual psychotherapy. She emphasizes that one should incorporate psychology, meditation, mind and spirit. Bringing these elements together is what makes a whole, healthy person.
O'Connor creates programs for women and girls and has facilitated groups for hundreds of individuals in hospitals, schools, corporations, churches and other organizations. She has taught a Special Studies class at the Institution each summer since 1995. She relies on the philosophy of her favorite book, A Course in Miracles, based on the love ethic. The creator of "The Inner Gym" audio tape series, O'Connor's goal is for her listeners to uncover their original worth. From 1985 to 1990, while living in Los Angeles, O'Connor worked as executive assistant to Author Marianne Williamson. In April 2000, in recognition of her healing work with women and adolescent girls, she was selected as one of five finalists for "The Woman of the Year" award by the Women's Roundtable Organization of Erie, PA.
O'Connor lives in Erie with her husband, Vlado Benden and their daughter, Shea.
