Imani Perry is a Professor in the Center for African American Studies at Princeton University. She is the author of two books, More Beautiful and More Terrible: The Embrace and Transcendence of Racial Inequality in the United States (2011) and Prophets of The Hood: Politics and Poetics in Hip Hop (2004), and numerous scholarly and popular articles and book reviews. She frequently provides radio and television commentary on contemporary social and political issues. Dr. Perry holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
