Joel C. Gregory is Professor of Preaching at George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University. An international preacher and teacher of preaching, he is President of Joel Gregory Ministries, in which capacity this year he has spoken 200 times in churches and conferences in 20 states, and at Oxford University, the UK, and Athens, Greece. Joel holds a B.A. Summa cum Laude and Ph.D. in religion from Baylor University, and earned the Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also taught preaching. Among his pastorates Joel has served Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth and First Baptist Church Dallas. He has been invited to bring the closing next July 26, 2015 at the Baptist World Congress meeting in Durban, South Africa.Rev. Gregory has preached at venues as diverse as Westminster Chapel, London, Spurgeon’s College, the Baptist World Alliance, Princeton Seminary, the International Seminary at Buenos Aires, the Annual Sermon of the Southern Baptist Convention, and the E.K. Bailey International Conference of Expository Preaching (15 years). He served for six years as the weekly preacher on the International Baptist Hour heard on 500 stations, and was twice elected unanimously as President of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, the 5,400 church denomination of Baptists in Texas. He is founder and teacher at Proclaimers Place® seminars, a four-day seminar that has been conducted 80 times in 15 states, for ten years at Oxford University, UK, Paris, Rome and last summer in Athens, Greece.Joel has authored or edited eight books, including Global Baptist Preaching, released in 2014 by Baylor University Press. He has contributed to dozens of journals, anthologies and periodicals, including the Abingdon Dictionary of Preaching and Our Sufficiency is of God: Essays on Preaching in Honor of Gardner Taylor.
