Martha A. Reitman, M.D. is President & CEO of Reitman Corporation, a company providing worldwide strategic development support to companies developing novel therapeutics and devices for the treatment of human disorders. She also serves as Vice President, Strategic Development for Human Genome Sciences, Inc. Formerly, she served as Medical Director and as Director, Clinical Research, Pre-Clinical Research, & Regulatory Affairs at Advanced Cardiovascular Systems (ACS), the Guidant Corporation. Prior to joining ACS, Dr. Reitman spent nine years at Syntex Corporation in both Clinical and Regulatory positions, including Medical Associate Director and Regulatory Director.
Dr. Reitman has worked closely in collaboration with the Food and Drug Administration for fifteen years in the areas of pharmaceutical, biological and medical device clinical development and product approvals. She has been a working member of the Cardio-Renal Division, Food and Drug Administration research CRADA committee, has served on the Board of Directors of the Medifacts Research Foundation, and is a journal reviewer for the Archives of Internal Medicine. She has been an Assistant Professor on the Voluntary Clinical Faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, California, and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She earned her B.S. with distinction from Cornell University. She earned her M.D. cum laude from State University of New York, Syracuse, and completed her pediatric residency at Stanford University.
